NEWARK, N.J. --- The NJIT men's tennis team kicked off their ASUN Conference schedule with a valiant effort in a 4-3 loss to the Stetson Hatters Saturday evening at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreation Facility.

Abdullah Fouad and
Aleksa Petrovic took the first doubles match of the night, rallying from a 5-2 deficit to earn the 7-5 victory.
Fouad took his doubles momentum and used it to force a retirement at No.3 and tie the match at 1-1.
Zac Castagna followed Fouad's win with one of his own at No. 4 to put the Highlanders ahead, 2-1.
Stetson, last year's ASUN runner-up, knotted the match at 2-2 with a win at the top flight but
