NEWARK, NJ--The NJIT women's basketball team will play its next three-out-of-four games at home, first hosting St. Francis Brooklyn on Tuesday at 7pm inside NJIT's Wellness and Events Center.

The game will be streamed live on ESPN+. Michael Ventola, the voice of the Highlander women, will handle the play-by-play and color analysis from Dave Calloway.

A simple way to find ESPN+ is on NJIT's official athletics website, www.njithighlanders.com. Near the middle of the home page under the headlines section, an upcoming events calendar lists scheduled NJIT contests. After finding the event, click the camera icon to the left of the event listing. That brings you to an ESPN+ portal where you can access the desired program.

All-Time Series
St. Francis Brooklyn leads 3-2.  The last time the two teams met dates back to November 25, 2014.  Then-senior guard Alyssa Albanese scored a career-high 24 points, including a clutch running lane jumper with 10 seconds remaining in regulation, sending the game into overtime and leading  NJIT to a 57-50 overtime victory over St. Francis Brooklyn. The Highlanders put the game away down the stretch, outscoring the Terriers, 13-6, in the extra session.

Last Time Out for NJIT
Wagner's Khaleah Edwards scored the game-winning basket with 0.3 seconds left in the game as the Seahawks came-from-behind to defeat visiting NJIT, 61-59, Tuesday evening in women's basketball non-conference action at the Spiro Sports Center.

NJIT was led by senior forward Danielle Tunstall, who posted her second double-double of the season, registering a season-best 22 points (two shy her personal-best) and 12 rebounds.

Guard Maddie Martin posted a career-best in points (19) and assists (7) and tie her personal-best mark with five rebounds.  She finished 7-for-8 from the free throw line while the Highlanders as a team shot 85.7 percent (12-for-14).

Scouting the Highlanders
The youthful Highlanders will return to Newark in search for the programs first win of the 2019 season under second-year head coach Mike Lane.

NJIT is led by senior forward Danielle Tunstall, who is averaging double-digits in points (10.3) and rebounds (10.2).  

Freshman guard Kenna Squier follows behind Tunstall averaging (8.7) while Ellyn Stoll sit at (8.3ppg).  Stoll paces the Highlanders with 11 three-point field goals made.

Scouting St. Francis Brooklyn
St. Francis Brooklyn (2-3) enters Tuesday's game on a two-game win streak -- defeating Army (70-64; on November 20) and most recently Loyola (MD) (89-78) on November 24.  The Terries opened its season 0-3, competing against Stony Brook, Marquette from the BIG EAST and Boston College from the ACC.

In the win over Loyola, the Greyhounds were led by four double-figure scorers -- Jade Johnson (25pts, 10-17 FG), Ally Lassen (23pts, 9rebs), Nevena Dimitrijevic (22pts, 5 assists, 4-7 3PT) and Jenna Jordan (11pts, 13rebs).

The Terriers are led by three double-figure scorers -- Johnson (19.4), Lassen (18.4) and Dimitrijevic (15.2).  On the boards, Lassen tops the team at 7.0rpg while Dimitrijevic, a freshman guard from Serbia, has dished out 35 assists.

Johnson, the Australian native, was selected to the Preseason All-NEC team, averaged 19.9ppg and connected on 100 three-point field goals from a season ago.

NJIT will return to action on December 4 when the Highlanders host Saint Peter's at NJIT's Wellness and Events Center.  Tip-off is slated for 7pm on ESPN+.
