Laila Hill-Glover Named ASUN Women's XC Freshman Of The Week

NEWARK, N.J. --- NJIT Cross Country's Laila Hill-Glover has been named the ASUN Women's Cross Country Freshman of the Week, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.

The newcomer from Hillsborough, N.J. helped the Highlander women finish third among Division I teams and fourth overall at the NJIT Highlander XC Challenger on October 5 at Branch Brook Park in Newark.

Hill-Glover placed 17th overall in the 5K meet, logging a sub-19-minute time of 18:55.46 that shaved nearly three minutes off of her first collegiate 5K time of 21:24.0 at the Fordham Fiasco/Ed Joyce Memorial on September 7.
She, along with teammates Cassandra Raia and Kelly DiCristina, were the first NJIT trio to log sub-19-minute times in seven years. Their times helped NJIT post an average time of 19:11.22, which reset the Highlanders' course record by 16 seconds.
The Highlanders will return to action this weekend at the annual Metropolitan Cross Country Championships, being held on Friday, October 11 at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.
