Swimming & Diving Defeated By UMass, 191-101

AMHERST, Mass. --- NJIT Swimming and Diving's undefeated start to the 2019-20 season came to an end on Saturday afternoon as the Highlanders fell on the road to the UMass Minutemen, 191-101.

Joshua Franco led the way for NJIT (4-1) as the sophomore accounted for three of the Highlanders' four victories on the day in the 200 Free, 100 Free and 200 IM. Cole Becker picked up NJIT's other win on the diving board in the first 1 Meter Dive.

UMass collected the majority of their points by sweeping the podium positions in four different events. NJIT tried to counter with one second-place, four third place, and three 2-3 finishes but fell short for the first time this season.
