NEWARK, NJ—A pair of ASUN Conference matches wrap up the Highlanders road schedule for the season, first visiting defending ASUN Conference Champions Lipscomb on Saturday, October 19 in Nashville.  Kick-off is slated for 7pm.

All-Time Series
Lipscomb leads the all-time series, 2-1-1.  NJIT's lone win over the Bison, a 1-0 win in Nashville, was on September 30, 2017.

United Soccer Coaches Atlantic Region Poll
NJIT moved up three spots to No. 7 in the Atlantic Region by the United Soccer Coaches in week seven (as of October 15).

ASUN Standings (as of October 18)
NJIT stands in fourth place with six points and a 2-1-0 mark in league action while Lipscomb sit in fifth place with three points and a 1-2-0 record in ASUN play. 

The Highlanders clinch a spot in the 2019 ASUN Conference Tournament with a win over Lipscomb on Saturday.

Stetson, which tops the ASUN standings with a 3-0-1 mark and 10 points is the only team that has clinched a spot in postseason.

ASUN Conference Defensive Player of the Week
NJIT freshman goalkeeper Samuel Reisgys picked up his third career ASUN Conference Defensive Player of the Week honor after posting a clean sheet on Saturday in the Highlanders 2-0 win over visiting North Florida in ASUN action.

Reisgys, from Rimbach, Germany, recorded his fourth career shutout of the season, posting two saves against the Ospreys.

He tops the ASUN in save percentage (.781) and fourth in goals against average (1.19).

Scouting the Highlanders
NJIT enters Saturday's match with a 5-4-4 overall record and 2-1-0 in the ASUN.  NJIT wrapped up its non-conference schedule on Tuesday at Loyola (MD), two-time defending Patriot League Champions.

Redshirt junior Rene White scored the only goal for NJIT at Loyola (MD) on Tuesday, scoring his team-leading 12th goal of the season.

White, which ranks tied for fourth in the nation with (12) total goals, raises his career mark to 29.  His 63 career points tops the NJIT Division I record book. The 6-foot striker has scored at least one goal in eight of NJIT's 13 matches.

He ranks in the NCAA top-12 in four different categories -- total goals (T-4th; 12), total points (7th; 25), goals per game (4th; 0.92) and points per game (12th; 1.92).

Nationally, as a team, NJIT ranks 12th in goals (28), 14th in points (81) and 20th in assists (25).  NJIT is 3-1-1 in the last five contests and have scored a total of 13 goals.

NJIT has three players ranked in the top five in the ASUN in total goals – White (12), Thomas Radon (4) and Alejandro Rabell (4).

Senior co-captain Andrew Nino tops the ASUN in assists (6) followed by Rabell with (5).

Four Highlanders are ranked in the top five in total points – White (25), Rabell (13), Radon (11) and Gerald Cubero (8).

Scouting the Bison
Lipscomb, the 2018 ASUN Conference Champions, advanced to the Sweet 16 and finished with 10 wins last season. 

The Bison enter Saturday's match with a 3-7-1 overall mark and 1-2-0 record in ASUN.  Lipscomb, on a two-match skid, last won on October 8 against Georgia State.

Ruben Pedersen is fifth in the ASUN with three goals scored while teammate Louis Robinson is tied for fourth in assists with three.  Robinson has scored at least one point in each of the last four Lipscomb contests totaling one goal and three assists in those matches for five points.

Goalkeeper Michael Sibley is first in the conference for goals against (4), third in GAA (1.05) and fourth in save percentage (.750).

NJIT will conclude its road schedule on October when the Highlanders visit FGCU on Saturday, October 26.

The final match of the season, Senior Night, will feature the Highlanders hosting Jacksonville on November 2.
