NEWARK, N.J. --- NJIT men's swimming and diving senior
Nicholas Lyons has been named the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Men's Swimmer of the Week, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Franklinville native led the Highlanders with three individual victories and two second place finishes as NJIT swept Saint Peter's, St. Francis Brooklyn, and Manhattan at last weekend's Highlander Invitational.
Lyons took first in the 100 Breast (57.49), 50 Free (21.82), and 200 Breast (2:07.59), while swimming on a pair of runner-up relays in the 200 Free (1:25.90) and 400 Medley (3:29.83).
Lyons and NJIT ended the weekend with its first-ever national ranking, coming in at No. 32 on the CollegeSwimming.com Division I Mid-Major Poll.
The Highlanders will return to action on October 25-26 with a pair of road duals at Providence and UMass.
