NEWARK, NJ—Visiting Lipscomb had three players reach double-digit kills in the Lady Bisons 3-1 (25-23, 22-25, 25-12, 25-16) victory at NJIT Saturday afternoon in ASUN Conference action at the Wellness and Events Center.
Lipscomb improved to an even 7-7 on the season, 2-0 in the ASUN, paced Megan Kuper and Carlyle Nusbaum who each recorded a double-double in the win. Kuper combined for 12 kills 15 digs while Nusbaum notched 15 kills and 14 digs. Maddie Phillips was Lipscomb's third player to reach double-digit kills with 11.
Setter Morgan Elmore just missed notching a double-double with 46 assists and nine digs while libero Ashley Maher led the way for Lipscomb with 16 digs followed by Kuper (15) and Nusbaum (14).
Lipscomb held a 10-to-7 team blocking advantage paced by Ca'Layci Coffey's five total blocks (two solo, three assists) and Kuper with four total blocks (one solo, three assists).
The Lady Bisons edged NJIT in the service ace category led by Nusbaum with two aces.
NJIT (1-14, 0-2 ASUN) was paced by
Madi Busler with nine kills. Senior middle
Jovana Baosic hit an impressive .750, combining for seven kills on eight swings and just one error.

Liz Benson and
Marissa Soistman split time at the setting position, posting 20 and 10 assists respectively.

Adriana Nieto led the match with 25 digs and middle
Marina Markaki recorded four total blocks (one solo, three assists).
The Highlanders will return to action on Tuesday at 7:30pm, hosting non-conference foe Fairleigh Dickinson inside the Wellness and Events Center.
