White Earns ASUN Conference Player of the Week
NJIT redshirt sophomore
Rene White recorded his first career ASUN Conference Player of the Week honors after scoring four goals last week for the Highlanders.
The forward from Bloomfield, NJ, led the Highlanders to a, 3-2, come-from-behind victory over Saint Francis U, including the golden goal in overtime. White recorded the team's first hat trick in the Division I era.
He scored the Highlanders' lone goal in a 2-1 loss at Drexel.
Scouting the Highlanders
NJIT, which won its first four matches of the season, suffered its first loss of the 2018 campaign on Saturday at Drexel, 2-1. White scored the Highlanders lone goal of the match in the 11
th minute on a penalty kick.
White, with six goals on the season, currently leads the ASUN Conference in goals, matching his freshman output (six goals) from 2016 and points with 16.
He has scored six of NJIT's eight goals this season while adding one assist, totaling 13 points on the season.
Andrew Nino's four assists pace the team while goalkeeper
Victor Pujades has played every minute in goal, posting a 0.98 goals against average with an .722 save percentage. Pujades has combined for two shutouts on the season.
Scouting the Terriers
St. Francis Brooklyn, which will begin a five-match homestand, enters the match with a 2-4 overall record with wins against Lafayette and La Salle. Most recently, the Terriers dropped a 3-1 decision at Iona. Iona scored a pair of goals in the first half and tallied its third goal in the second to secure the win. The Terriers scored its lone goal in the 28
th minute off the foot of Anthony Gimenes off a free kick, for his first career goal.
St. Francis Brooklyn Marco Torriani paces the Terriers with two goals while four different players posted one goal.
Preseason Northeast Conference Coaches' Poll
St. Francis Brooklyn was selected as the unanimous favorite in the Northeast Conference (NEC) Preseason Poll for the second year in a row. The Terriers have claimed two consecutive NEC Championships and are winners of four-out-of-the-last-five conference titles (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017).
The 14 wins in 2017 tied for the second-most victories in a single-season in program history.

NJIT will begin a stretch of three consecutive matches at home in Hillside, NJ on the campus of Kean University East Campus Facility. The Highlanders will host George Washington on Saturday at 3:30pm.
