NEWARK, NJ—The NJIT women's volleyball team is in search for its first win this season as the Highlanders travel across the river for the Terrier Classic at St. Francis Brooklyn.

NJIT enters the weekend, 0-3, with losses to Youngstown State, Bucknell, and Saint Peter's at the Bucknell Invitational.
Senior libero
Adriana Nieto posted a match-high 43 digs last weekend against St. Peter's. Nieto was selected to the Bucknell Invitational All-Tournament team.
Freshman outside hitter
Udo Nwosu recorded her first-career double-double of 15 kills and 12 digs against St. Peter's.
NJIT vs. St. Francis Brooklyn
St. Francis Brooklyn enters the weekend Classic with a 1-2 overall mark, with its lone win over Hampton at the Morehead State Eagles Classic.
Junior Taris Pittman and freshman Kizzy Rodriguez were both honored for their standout play following their first three matches of the season.
Pittman was named to the Eagle Challenge All-Tournament Team, while Rodriguez was tabbed a Prime Performer by the Northeast Conference.
St. Francis Brooklyn wrapped up the 2017 season (8-21, 2-12 NEC).
NJIT vs. Delaware State
The Hornets (0-3) are trying to bounce back are going winless in three matches at the James Madison Invitational weekend.
Among the bright spots for the team last weekend was the play of senior Armbrister, who was named to JMU All-Tournament Team after recording 10 kills and four blocks in the three matches.
Delaware State compiled a (3-25, 3-9 MEAC) mark last season. The Hornets were tabbed fifth in the MEAC Northern Division Preseason Poll.
Last year, the Highlanders swept the visiting Hornets, 3-0, on October 10. Three players reached double-digit kills for NJIT led by senior middle
Mikalah Hughes with a match-best 13 kills.
NJIT vs. Bucknell
Bucknell is 2-1 after posting wins over NJIT and Saint Peter's and a loss to Youngstown State at the season-opening Bucknell Invitational.
Mimi Richards notched 10 kills and 10 total blocks in the match against Youngstown State. Richards was also voted to the All-Tournament Team and was joined by teammate Alexa Bonanno.
The Bison continued their trend of being the top blocking team in the Patriot League. They averaged 3.00 per set through the first three matches.
ASUN Conference Coaches' Poll
The Highlanders finished the 2017 season (12-19, 2-12 ASUN) and were picked to finish ninth in the ASUN Preseason Poll. Nieto was selected to the ASUN Preseason All-Conference team.
