NJIT Highlights vs. FGCU
NEWARK, NJ—FGCU had five players reach double-figures paced by guard Jessica Cattani's game-high 18 points in the Eagles' 89-43 victory over NJIT Monday evening in ASUN Conference action at the Wellness and Events Center.
The Eagles, who move to 10-1 in the ASUN and 24-4 overall, connected on 17 three-point field goals paced by Cattani, who sank a career-best six three-pointers.
In addition to Cattani's 18 points, forward Rosemarie Julien netted 17 points, China Dow (15), Tytionia Adderly notched a double-double with 11 points and 16 rebounds and Chandler Ryan added 10 points.
Adderly's 16 rebounds led the game as the Eagles outrebounded the Highlanders 43-to-27.Â
Guard Erica Nelson dished out game-high seven assists.
NJIT (1-10 ASUN, 3-23) was led by
Ellyn Stoll, who produced a team-best 13 points followed by guard
Kelly Guarino with 11 points.Â
Jordan Ireland chipped in six points off the bench for NJIT.Â
Jillian Libby paced the Highlanders on the glass with six rebounds.
FGCU exploded for 27 first quarter points, taking control of the contest, 27-14 and outscored the Highlanders, 21-10, in the second stanza for a 48-24 halftime score.
The Highlanders were outscored in the second half, 41-19, as the Eagles secured an 89-43 victory.
NJIT, which concluded the home portion of its schedule, will conclude the regular season on the road, first visiting North Florida on February 17 at 2pm and Jacksonville on February 19 at 7pm.
