All-Time Series
Colgate leads the all-time series, 3-2.  NJIT has not played Colgate since the 2012-13 season when the two squads split the season series. The Highlanders grabbed the late-game victory in the second meeting with a winning three-pointer from Martina Matejcikova with eight seconds left on the clock.

A Look Inside the Highlander Squad
NJIT enters Friday's game with a 2-8 overall record -- with wins coming against Western Carolina, 79-71, and most recently, 72-51, at LIU Brooklyn.

The Highlanders begin a new era under first-year head coach Mike Lane.  Lane comes to NJIT after spending six seasons at Bucknell University as the top assistant coach, where he helped guide the Bison to a program-best 27-6 mark, Patriot League title and conference championship while earning a berth to the NCAA Tournament in 2017.

The Highlanders are led by graduate student Kelly Guarino's 13.6ppg followed by Danielle Tunstall (11.5) and Ellyn Stoll (10.8).

Guarino ranks 10th in scoring in the ASUN, tied for 20th in the nation in three-point field goals made.  Her 29 three-pointers made rank second in the ASUN and third in three-point field goal percentage (43.3).  She also ranks third in free throw percentage (87.5) and fifth in free throws (28-32).

The guard from Thiells, NY, is NJIT's Division I all-time leader with 209 three-pointers made and is 13 shy of the all-time record.  Her total also ranks 14th in ASUN history, just 11 shy of breaking into the top 10 in league history with 220 established by LaTorria Matthews of FAU between 1997 and 2001.

Tunstall, the Highlanders 5-foot-11 forward, sits atop the Highlanders with 7.5rpg, which ranks fifth in the ASUN.  Tunstall ranks third in the league in total rebounds (75) and eighth in blocks (7).

Stoll, who is averaging 35 minutes per game, ranks first on the team in assists (26) and second in steals (12).  Stoll has dished out at least one assist in nine of NJIT's 10 games, including season-best five assists against Vermont.

Graduate student Tatianna Torres is averaging 7.2ppg and 4.8rpg for the Highlanders.  Her 136 career steals are one shy the NJIT Division I record.  This season Torres has seven steals in nine games.

Scouting Colgate
Colgate (4-4) has won four of its last five games, after an 0-3 start to the season.  The Raiders registered its first road victory of the season, 61-52, at UMass Lowell on December 5 to reach .500 on the season.

In the 61-52 victory of UMass Lowell, Mylah Chandler scored a season-high 14 points and Summer King added 12 points in victory.

The Raiders, who are a perfect 3-0 at home, picked up wins against Canisius, Columbia and Fairleigh Dickinson.

Both teams have one opponent in common in Fairleigh Dickinson.  Colgate defeated FDU, 71-52, while the Highlanders dropped a 64-43 decision at FDU.

The Raiders are led by two double-figure scorers -- Rachel Thompson (12.6ppg) and Summer King (10.9ppg).  Thompson sits atop the Raiders in rebounds (8.3rpg), assists (28) and steals (18).

The 5-foot-10 guard has reached double-figure scoring in seven-out-of-eight games this season, including two 20-point performances and a pair of double-double contests.

Summer scored in double-digits in the last five games, including 20 points against Columbia.  Summer is shooting 90.5 percent from the free throw line (19-for-21) and ranks second with 5.8rpg.
