EASTON, PA—The NJIT men's fencing team went undefeated, 5-0, at the MACFA A vs. C Tournament hosted by Lafayette on November 18.
NJIT picked up wins over: Drew (23-4), Cornell (23-4), TCNJ (27-0), Rutgers (22-5) and host Lafayette (22-5).
Senior
Chris Saulys led the foil squad, combining for an undefeated record, 15-0. Sophomore
Dominic Heise notched a 13-2 mark while teammates
Thomas Manley recorded a 9-0 record while
Nicholas Concepcion went 6-0. As a team, the foil squad went 43-2.
Freshman
Rourke Hillyer and senior
Ege Ayan led the epee squad, notching seven wins apiece. Rourke went 3-0 against Drew and Lafayette while Ayan combined for a 3-0 record against Drew and notched a pair of wins against Cornell and host Lafayette.
Junior
Thomas Slawinski paced the epee squad with a 14-0 record, notching three wins against Drew, Cornell, Lafayette and Rutgers while picking up a pair of wins against TCNJ. Freshman
Pedro D'Avila recorded an 11-0 mark with 3-0 wins over Drew, Cornell and Lafayette while going 2-0 against TCNJ.
NJIT, which has won its last six matches, will return to action on December at the Tradition Tournament hosted by Sacred Heart in Fairfield, CT.
