NEWARK, NJ—NJIT will visit first-time opponent Liberty in ASUN Conference men's soccer action on Saturday at 2pm.

Last Time Out
Junior Lukas Fernandes scored a goal and added two assists, combining for a season-high four points to lead visiting Temple to a 3-1 victory over NJIT at Kean University East Campus Facility in non-conference men's soccer action.

NJIT junior captain Andrew Nino got the Highlanders on the board, 3-1, on a converted penalty kick in the 75th minute.  Nino netted his first goal of the season.

Scouting the Highlanders
NJIT (5-6, 0-2 ASUN) looks to snap a five-match skid at Liberty on Saturday at 2pm.  The Highlanders last won on September 12, a 1-0 victory at St. Francis Brooklyn.

Redshirt sophomore Rene White is tied for the ASUN lead for goals (8).  White has scored in six of his eight games at home, while combining for two goals and one assist in four road games.

Highlander keeper Victor Pujades has combined for a 1.49 goal against average, which ranks third in the ASUN. He has saved 36 shots, including three shutouts on the year, logging a save percentage of .706.  His 36 saves ranks second in the league and saves percentage ranks third.

Scouting Liberty
Liberty (4-4-1, 0-1-1 ASUN) will look for its first ASUN Conference victory of the season.

Forward Tresor Mbuyu leads the ASUN with 19 points and is tied for the lead with eight goals.

Midfielder Kevin Mendoza currently leads the ASUN in points per game (2.12). He is second in the conference with 17 points and seven points.  Mendoza has scored at least one goal in each of the last four games.
