NJIT will open ASUN Conference action on Saturday, January 6, welcoming the Spartans from USC Upstate at the Wellness and Events Center with opening tip slated for 1pm.
The NJIT men are slated to tipoff against USC Upstate as part of the ASUN Conference doubleheader at 4pm.
ESPN3
The game will be shown live on ESPN3 (all remaining NJIT home basketball games can be seen on ESPN3).
A simple way to find ESPN3 is on NJIT's official athletics website, www.njithighlanders.com. Near the middle of the home page NJIT TV section, click Upcoming Events for a list of scheduled NJIT contests. After finding the event, click the camera icon to the right of the event listing. That brings you to an ESPN3 portal where you can access the desired program.

Starting in January, every NJIT game played in the ASUN Conference, home and away, throughout the regular season and into the ASUN postseason tournament will be covered on ESPN3.
All-Time Series
Saturday will mark the fifth all-time meeting between the two teams, with the Spartans, holding a 3-1 advantage. In the last meeting, Alana Dudley hit a jumper with 2:34 left to give NJIT the lead for good as the Highlanders came back from a 13-point deficit to top USC Upstate, 70-66.
Danielle Tunstall scored 13 points on 6-6 from the floor with nine rebounds.
Scouting USC Upstate (5-10, 0-0 ASUN)
For the first time since the 2005-06 season, the USC Upstate women's basketball team reached the century mark in scoring as five players finished in double-figures during a 109-39 victory over the Brevard College.
The Spartans scored over 100 points in a game for the first time since Dec. 29, 2005 when they defeated Converse 103-55.
Anda Kuzmina led Upstate offensively with a career-high 20 points after shooting a career-best 8-for-11 from the field while tying her career mark of five assists.
Kuzmina and Tamera Thorpe are averaging double-figures at 12.6 ppg and 10.4 ppg respectively for the Spartans. Morgan Williams is the top rebounder at 4.7 rpg while Kuzmina and Rylie Parkhurst are the Spartans three-point threats, combining for 48 three-pointers on the season.
Thorpe is second in the league in field goal percentage, shooting 50 percent from the floor.
Scouting the Highlanders (2-13, 0-0 ASUN)
NJIT is coming off a 61-46 loss against Cornell on Wednesday on Education Day at the WEC. Tunstall led the Highlanders nearly notching, a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.
Highlanders went 1-1 in the NJIT Basketball Holiday Tournament, advancing to the Championship game, after a 73-57 victory over Long Beach State.
Redshirt junior
Tatianna Torres leads the team averaging 11.2 ppg and total steals (32). Freshman
Ellyn Stoll is averaging 9.9 ppg and paces the team with 29 three-point field goals made.
Tunstall tops the team on the boards, averaging 6.4 rpg.
Senior forward
Taj Lewis leads the ASUN in field goal percentage at 51.7 percent (60-116).

NJIT will make its first road trip in the ASUN Conference next week, visiting FGCU on January 13 at 4pm and Stetson on January 15 at 1pm.
