EASTON, PA—Three Highlanders recorded double-digit kills in NJIT's 3-0 sweep against Fairleigh Dickinson Saturday afternoon at the Kirby Sports Center.
NJIT won its third straight match in close sets, 25-22, 25-20 and 26-24, improving to 5-7 on the season while Fairleigh Dickinson falls to 3-9 on the season.
Leading the Highlanders offense was senior
Mikalah Hughes and sophomore transfer
Madi Busler with 11 kills apiece. Hughes finished with a .308 hitting percentage while senior middle
Adrianne Bynoe combined for 10 kills, hitting .300 for the match.

Tess Albyn added seven kills.
Sophomore setter
Liz Benson recorded a double-double with 36 assists and 12 digs, including four block assists in the win.
Junior libero
Adriana Nieto notched 25 digs to lead all players.
In front of the net, Bynoe recorded five blocks (all assists) while Benson added four assists.
Fairleigh Dickinson's Magdalena Maksimovic was the lone Knight to reach double-digit kills with 11.
Setter McKenna Setterlund notched a double-double with 15 assists and 14 digs, including four total blocks (one solo, three assists).
Four different Knights combined for double-figure digs, paced by Setterlund and Carly O'Sullivan with 14, followed by Maksimovic (12) and Allison Koester (10).
Taylor Wyckoff led all players with seven total blocks (one solo, six assists).
NJIT, which played its first 12 matches on the road, will open the 2017 season at home on Tuesday, September 19 at 7pm. The Highlanders will host visiting FDU at 7pm in the Fleisher Athletic Center.
