LEWISBURG, PA—La Salle swept NJIT, 3-0, in women's volleyball non-conference action Saturday evening to conclude the Bucknell Invitational.
La Salle (2-1), which won in straight sets, 25-10, 25-11 and 25-13, hit an impressive .380 for the match, paced by freshman outside hitter Samantha Graver, who hit .519 notching 15 kills on 27 swings and just one error.
Sophomore outside hitter Devin Corah followed Graver with 13 kills, hitting .480 on 25 attempts and just one error.
Setter Katheryn Wood recorded 33 assists and added six digs while junior libero Jensen Sharrits posted a match-best 16 digs followed by freshman Alyssa Cianciulli (11).
Sharrits led the Explorers with four service aces while Corah added two, as La Salle held a 7-to-1 advantage in that category.
NJIT (1-2) was paced by setter
Emily Krachenfels with four kills while Krachenfels also led the Highlanders with nine assists. Junior co-captain
Adriana Nieto added four assists for NJIT.
Defensively, Nieto led the team with 10 digs followed by Krachenfels,
Madi Busler,
Alyssa Armada and
Mikalah Hughes each contributing five digs each.
NJIT will be back in action on September 1 against Maryland Eastern Shore at the Terrier Classic hosted by St. Francis Brooklyn. First spike set for 10am.
