PRINCETON, NJ – The NJIT men's volleyball team fell 3-1 to EIVA opponent Princeton on Tuesday night at Dillon Gymnasium.
Jabarry Goodridge who surpassed the 1000 kills mark in a five-set thriller against Saint Francis U nn Saturday led NJIT with 19 kills, raising his career total to 1029.
Luke Robbe also had a good match for the Highlanders (5-6, 1-2 EIVA), with nine kills and a game-high seven blocks
Brad Thele produced six kills and six blocks of his own, while
Ricardo Whitaker posed 32 assists. On the defensive end
Shannon Heckman tallied six digs.
For Princeton (4-6, 2-1 EIVA), Parker Dixon made a game-high 22 kills, while teammate Kendall Ratter collected 18 kills.
The first set went in favor of the Highlanders 25-23 after a very back and forth set. NJIT's
Raymond Kowalski scored four of his nine kills in the first set.
In a 66 point second set, the Tigers came out on top 34-32. The Highlanders worked their way back from a four-point deficit, and tied it up at 16 with a service ace by Thele.
The set was back and forth until the very end with two kills by Ratter to end the game.
The third and fourth sets were both won by Princeton, where the Tigers won the third 25-21 and the fourth and final set 25-16.
NJIT will host George Mason on Friday, February 17 for a 7pm start time and will be streamed live on ESPN3.
