NEWARK, NJ – NJIT men's swimming and diving completed their dual meets against Bryan and Saint Peter's on Saturday morning, earning a win over the Peacocks, but falling to Bryant.
The Highlanders (2-4) fell 222-125 to Bryant, but defeated Saint Peter's 206-135 after losing to the Peacocks earlier in October.
In the 100 free, .25 seconds separated the first, second and third place swimmers. 
Matheus Monteiro Montarroyos took first, with a time of 48.65, .08 of a second before Saint Peter's 48.73.
Senior Montarroyos earned himself another victory in the 500 free, coming in at 4:50.57, while JT Morehead took third swimming in 4:55.99.
In the 400 IM 
Scott Quirie out touched Saint Peter's Andrew Galarza by .04 of a second to earn second place. In the same race, freshman Morehead came back the last lap after being behind four seconds and just missed third having come in .11 of a second after Galarza.
In another close race in the 100 fly, Mattheau Bonner took second place at 52.50, .21 of a second after first place finisher Matthew Mays of Bryant.
Nicholas Lyons and 
Alex Danielson finished second and third in the 200 breast, swimming in 2:11.79 and 2:19.52 respectively.
During the final race of the day, the Highlanders took third in the 400 free relay with help from Montarroyos, Jake Haefner, 
Tyler Pollock and 
Jack Matusiak.
In diving that was held at the College of Staten Island, 
Avery Bechtel and 
Cole Becker finished second and third respectively in both the 1-meter and the 3-meter.
NJIT will next travel to Lehigh on November 11 for a 1pm dual meet.
