NEWARK, NJ – NJIT men's swimming and diving completed the first day of their dual meets with Bryant and Saint Peter's on Friday night in the Fleisher Athletic Center.
After the first night of competition the Highlanders had a 72-40 advantage over Saint Peter's but are behind Bryant 70-42.
Only nine events were completed on Friday night.
Matheus Monteiro Montarroyos was the only Highlander to claim a first place finish in the 200 free coming in at 1:45.84. Freshman JT Morehead came in third in the race finishing in 1:47.74.
NJIT placed second in both relays on the night.

Nicholas Lyons,
Tyler Pollock and
Jack Matusiak grabbed second in the 200 free coming in at 1:29.15 and
Scott Quirie, Lyons, Mattheau Bonner and Matusiak swam the 400 medley in 3:37.07.
Quirie picked up another second place finish in the 100 back (54.48), and third place in the 200 IM (2:01.81).
The Highlanders continue their meet against Bryant and Saint Peter's tomorrow morning, competing in 10 more events.
