BOCA RATON, FL – The NJIT men's swimming and diving team ended their winter training trip competing in a dual meet with Florida Atlantic and Old Dominion on Monday.
After spending the last week in Florida for winter training, the Highlanders (4-4) fell to host Florida Atlantic 185-54 and Old Dominion 171-72.
Matheus Monteiro Montarroyos was the only Highlander to place in the top three, placing third in 1000 free swimming in 10:07.51.
Avery Bechtel led all NJIT divers with 139.95 points in the 1-meter dive and 133.50 points in 3-meter dive with 133.50 points
The Highlanders posted a third place finish in the 200 yard free relay with the help of
Tyler Pollock,
Michael Sungurov,
Maxim Tillman and Montarroyos with a time of 1:30.54.
NJIT will host their first meet of 2017 on January 8 against Lehigh at 1pm.
