NJIT picked up its lone win, 60-57, over Howard on December 10, 2010.
A Look at Howard
The visiting Bison enter Friday's contest with a 2-6 overall mark, including wins in the last two out of three contests. Howard's most recent victory came against Mount St. Mary's, 95-62, in the 2016 home opener, paced by senior
Sydni Johnson, who just missed out on a double-double with a season-high 21 points and nine rebounds. Johnson went 7-of-14 from the floor, including four three-pointers.
After coming up with a 95-62 triumph over Mount St. Mary's, redshirt senior
Te'Shya Heslip was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Co-Player of the Week and freshman
Imani Bryant earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Heslip tallied her seventh double-digit point total of the season against the Mount with 18 points. She shot 6-of-12 from the floor to go along with eight assists, five steals and four rebounds. She has led the Bison in scoring in seven of eight games and is averaging a team-high 17.5 points, 4.5 assists and 3.6 steals.
It is the second straight week that Bryant has been named the league's Rookie of the Week. She recorded nine points on 4-of-7 shooting and paired it with three blocks and a steal. The 6-1 forward posted her third consecutive game with double-digit rebounds with 11. Bryant is putting up 7.9 rebounds per game and shooting 65.6 percent (21-32) from the field. Both marks are the best on the team.
Howard dropped its first five games of the season before recording its first victory of the season at St. Francis Brooklyn on November 30. The Bison, with a challenging schedule, played its first seven games on the road, including at No. 21 West Virginia, Michigan and Cincinnati.
