NEWARK, NJ – Basketball's Tracey Brereton was named Female Athlete of the Week for her performance in the TD Bank Classic hosted by Vermont over Thanksgiving break.
 
Brereton tallied 13 points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal in the Highlanders two games over break.
 
In NJIT's 64-42 loss to Vermont on Friday, Brereton played 13 minutes and posted 3 points adding a rebound and an assist.
 
Brereton led the Highlanders to victory over LIU Brooklyn on Saturday scoring NJIT's final eight points in the close 50-48 win.
 
The guard tied the game 45-45 with three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
 
Brereton put the Highlanders ahead for the final time with a lay-up in the paint at 1:01, and then sealed the game for NJIT with three made free throws in the final five seconds of the game.
