NJIT, which has dropped its last three contests, looks to get back into the win column Tuesday when the Highlanders host University at Albany at 7pm in the Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center.

The Highlanders are coming off a 57-42 road loss at the University of Rhode Island Saturday. They were paced against URI by Uju Nwankwo, who recorded her third double-double of the season with 11 points and 17 rebounds.

Nwankwo scored 10 of her 11 points in the second half, while the 17 rebounds is a new career-high for the senior. Nwankwo came up one rebound short of the NJIT Division I single season record of 18 held by Rayven Johnson, accomplished on March 16, 2013.

NJIT is led by graduate student Shakia Robinson who is averaging 9.9ppg while ranking second on the team with 4.9rpg.  Robinson is shooting 64 percent from the field (46-72) for the Highlanders.

Nwankwo, the Highlanders 6-foot-1 forward is NJIT's second leading scorer with 8.6ppg and tops the team with 9.2rpg and 18 blocks.

UAlbany, which enters the contest on Tuesday with a perfect 7-0 mark, has faced NJIT three times, including last season.  The Great Danes were a double-champion in the America East in 2012-13, winning all 16 conference regular season games and then rolling through the AE Tournament and finishing 27-4. The Great Danes also won the America East and played in the NCAA's the preceding year.

UAlbany stands as the only undefeated team in the America East, coming off an 81-59 victory over Dartmouth last Wednesday improving to 7-0 and ranking #8 in the College Insider Mid-Major Poll.

The Great Danes are led by sophomore forward Shereesha Richards, reigning America East Co-Player of the Week, who is averaging 23.9 points and 9.9 rebounds a game, including five 22+point performances.  Richards is coming off a 32-point performance against Dartmouth.

Forward Sarah Royals ranks second on the team averaging 13.6ppg and has a conference-best 5.3 assists a game.  Megan Craig is averaging 10.6ppg while shooting over 62% from the field.

UAlbany ranks first in the America East in scoring with 74.9 points a game, scoring margin at +17.6 and field goal percentage at 52.0%

The two programs met last season at SEFCU Arena on November 28, 2102, with UAlbany winning 76-41.  UAlbany leads the all-time series 2-1, taking the last two games.
