BRONX, NY- The NJIT men's swimming and diving team competed against St. Francis Brooklyn and Manhattan Saturday afternoon falling short against both teams.
The Highlanders dropped a close 104-99 decision against St. Francis Brooklyn and 127-76 decision against Manhattan in a hard fought meet.
Sophomore
Richard Seffrin won the 500 yard freestyle (4:52.05) by 13 seconds over the next finisher. He also placed 2nd in the 200 yard Individual Medley (2:03.25).
Sophomore
Brian Capozzola had a superb meet winning both the 50 yard freestyle (21.24) and 100 yard freestyle (47.07).
Freshman
Anthony Czar also swam great winning the 1000 yard freestyle (10:08.15) and placing 2nd in the 100 yard backstroke (57.80).
The 200 yard Medley Relay consisting of Czar, Seffrin, sophomore
Dennis Popov and Capozzola swam its seasonal best of the year and is only two seconds within the school record set in May of 2013.
The Highlanders have a long break until their next meet which will be during their winter training trip to Miami, Florida at the Florida International Invitational January 4th.
