NJIT Men’s Swimming & Diving Falls to St. Peters

NEWARK, NJ- The Highlanders showed some fast times along with some great swims but came up short against Saint Peter's University with a score of 116-89 Friday evening in the Highlanders 2013 home opener.

Tops finishes from the meet included freshman Anthony Czar placing 1st in the 200 yard freestyle (1:47.58) and the 500 yard freestyle (4:50.99).

Sophomore Brian Capozzola placed 1st in the 50 yard freestyle (21.45) with his fastest time this season.  In addition he swam into a 1st place finish in the 100 yard freestyle (46.54) by a margin of over 3.5 seconds.  Capozzola's 100 yard freestyle time is only 0.29 seconds away from the school record he holds from last season.

Sophomore Richard Seffrin scored 2nd in the 400 yard Individual Medley (4:17.85) and 2nd in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:02.19).

The Highlanders travel to Riverdale, NY to compete against Manhattan College and Saint Francis (Brooklyn) Saturday November 16 at 2pm.
