FAIRFIELD, CT—The NJIT swimming team competed in its final dual meet of the season at Fairfield this weekend.
In the 50 freestyle, the Highlanders placed first, third and fifth with juniors
Shawn Bryan (23.12*),
Jonathan Van Ostenbridge (24.51*) and
Johannes Smit (26.22*) placing respectively.
Bryan also placed third in the 200 freestyle and third in the 100 freestyle.
In addition, freshman
JT Stefan placed second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:02.11* and sophomore
Victor Razuk placed first in the 50 butterfly with a time of 29.56.*
Senior
Amy Cilento swam a lifetime best in the 400 free (converted to her 500 free time) with a time of 5:54.46*. Smit also swam a seasonal best in the 50 free with a time of 26.22.* Sophomore
Liliette Graca swam a lifetime best in the 100 back with a time of 1:24.61.*
The Highlanders' final meet will be on Friday, February 17 to Saturday, February 19 at the Metropolitan Conference Championships. This meet will take place at Rutgers University, New Brunswick at the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center.
*All times have been converted from short course meter to short course yard equivalents.
