NEWARK, NJ—In their first Division I victory of the season, the NJIT men's swimming team improved their record to 3-2 with a standing room only crowd at the Fleisher Athletic Center.
NJIT defeated St. Francis (NY) 53-42, and fell to Manhattan, 41-54.
The Highlanders continued to swim fast and broke an additional 3 school records, bringing the total to eight school records broken for the weekend.
Freshman
Brian Capozzola had a phenomenal performance in both the 50 and 100 Freestyle, finishing first in both overall.
In the 50 Freestyle he broke his own record set a week and a half ago with a time of 21.80. In the 100 Freestyle Capozzola went a 47.57, breaking his teammate, Senior
Shawn Bryan's, old mark of 48.00.

Dennis Popov, and Senior
Shawn Bryan took down the existing record by 3 seconds set back in 2007 with a time of 3:17.67.
Bryan was narrowly touched out in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:49.62 and finished 2
nd to Capozzola against St.Francis in the 100 Freestyle (49.76). Drori finished 1
st overall in the 500 Freestyle (5:03.91) and 1
st against St. Francis in the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.44. Seffrin finished 1
st in the 1000 Freestyle overall with a time of 10:17.41 and Freshman
Matthew Temple finished behind him in 2
nd against St. Francis (11:27.15).
The Highlanders will take on Lehigh University at NJIT's Fleisher Athletic Center on Saturday, December 1.
