Rayven Johnson was selected to the 2011-12 Preseason Women's Basketball all-Great West Conference first team, Director of Media Relations Jacque Cottrell announced Wednesday.
Johnson earned honorable mention recognition a year ago averaging 10.7ppg and 6.1rpg.
The 5-foot-8 guard made her season debut on Wednesday vs. Fairleigh Dickinson netting five points, six rebounds and four assists in 23 minutes of action off the bench. Johnson was held out of the Highlanders season-opener vs. Brown due to injuries sustained in preseason practice.
North Dakota's Allyssa Wall led the ballot as the Great West Conference Preseason Player of the Year. Last season, Wall averaged 11.4ppg and 5.2rpg which led to second-team all-GWC honors.
Johnson and the Highlanders will return to action on Saturday and host Wagner at the Fleisher Athletic Center at 2pm.
Last season, the Seahawks defeated NJIT 71-55 led by center Kelly Clark, who scored a career-high 30 points.
