Due to the heavy winter storm that hit the Newark area last Wednesday, resulted in the postponement of the teams next two scheduled contests, which were to be played at North Dakota and South Dakota. NJIT has not played since a 54-51 overtime loss at Savannah State on February 6.
Houston Baptist (3-19, 1-6 GWC) has played its last three games on the road and will conclude its trip at NJIT on Thursday. The Huskies are coming off a 79-66 loss at conference opponent Texas-Pan American last Wednesday. Four players finished with double-figures for Houston Baptist led by Jaime Springs' 19 points.
The Huskies are led by Taniqua Hollis, who has played in 14 out of 22 games, averaging (9.6ppg). Destini Texada is the top rebounder with (5.6rpg). Raquel Jones has connected on 42 three-pointers on the season; Jones scored 22 points vs. the Highlanders in Houston (Jan.16) scoring 15 from behind the arc.
