Women’s Basketball vs. Lehigh Preview

NJIT vs. Lehigh - Thursday at 7pm

 

The Highlanders will host the Mountain Hawks from Lehigh on Thursday at the Fleisher Athletic Center before the team breaks for a week due to exams. .. Tipoff is scheduled for 7pm.

 

NJIT (1-6) returns home after visiting Manhattan on December 1 and Wagner on December 7.  The Highlanders only win of the season came at home on November 27 vs. Penn in a 74-63 victory paced by Rayven Johnson's career-high 24 points. 

 

The Highlanders are led by senior Jessica Gerald's 13.1ppg.  Gerald ranks third all-time at NJIT with 1,224 career points.  Johnson is the Highlanders second leading scorer with 12.9ppg and is the team leader with 22 total rebounds (5.7rpg).

 

Shooting guard Melanie Griffin is the third double-figure scorer for NJIT with 11.1ppg and ranks tied for second on the team with Kimberly Dweck with 14 assists.  Ivana Seric is the individual assists leader with 25.

 

Lehigh, 5-5 on the season, has won its last four games, the most recent victory against Saint Peter's Tuesday afternoon in an 83-62 win.  Senior Courtney Dentler scored a career-high 21 points as the Mountain Hawks shot 59 percent from the field in the second half 49 percent for the game.

 

The Mountain Hawks have three players averaging double-figures paced by Erica Prosser with 12.4ppg.  Dentler is the team's second leading scorer with 11.8ppg and the team leader with 27 total rebounds (6.1rpg) while Emily Gratch is averaging 11.0ppg.
