NJIT will host Howard before the team breaks for the holiday on Wednesday at 2pm in the Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center.  Wednesday's contest will mark the first meeting between the two teams.

The Highlanders are coming off a 72-37 non-conference loss at Big 12 conference opponent Missouri on Sunday.  Jessica Gerald was NJIT's leading scorer with 11 points.

Gerald, a senior guard, and sophomore Rayven Johnson are both averaging 11.8 ppg.  Johnson is shooting 73 percent (37-51) from the free throw line.

Junior Melanie Griffin, who will be sidelined due to a knee injury, averages 11.5 ppg for the Highlanders.  Griffin is shooting 52 percent (13-25) from behind the arc.

Sophomore Maria Sanchez and freshman Kristian Parker share team honors with 31 total rebounds.  Senior Ivana Seric has dished out a team-high 30 assists.

Howard, 3-8 on the season, suffered a 67-55 loss at Saint Francis (PA) on December 16 and will return back to action in Newark.

The Bison had four players recorded double-figures in the loss.  Adelle Walton tallied a career-best 17 points – all in the second half – behind a 5-for-7 mark from three-point land.

Cheyenne Curly-Payne scored 13 points in 18 minutes, Tamoria Holmes and Saadia Doyle chipped in with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
