The NJIT women's basketball team will return home on Sunday, December 20 at 12pm and host the University of Massachusetts in the Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center. … UMass leads the all-time series 1-0 (UMass 63, NJIT 50 on January 7, 2009).

The Highlanders, (1-2) in the month of December fell at Big East Marquette on (12/3; 41-81); defeated Colgate (12/9; 52-41) and suffered a (38-64) loss Friday evening at Lehigh.

NJIT is led by Jessica Gerald, the only player averaging double-figures with 14.2ppg.  Junior forward Ivana Seric is averaging 8.7ppg and 5.4rpg and ranks second on the team in assists, with 18.  Senior forward Taiwo Oyelola has collected 55 rebounds to lead the Highlanders on the boards.

Kristina Danella, UMass's sophomore forward is the only player for the Minutewomen to average double-figure totals 13.9ppg while shooting 87 percent from the free throw line (55-63).  The 6-foot-1 forward also leads the team in rebounds, 6.5rpg.
