NEWARK, NJ -- The NJIT men's swimming team opened up its 2009-10 season hosting Bryant Saturday afternoon at the Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center.

Freshman Shawn Bryan making his collegiate debut in the pool, finished second in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle.

Classmate Marlon De La Rosa added a second-place finish in the 200 IM while teammate Andrew Helbers took second in the 500-yard freestyle.

Bryant defeated the Highlanders 116-77.

NJIT will return to action on Saturday, October 31 when they host Virginia Military Institute and Manhattan at 6:00pm in the Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center.
