HAMDEN, CT – The NJIT women's volleyball team wrapped up the Quinnipiac Bobcat Invitational Sunday morning with a 3-0 victory over Coppin State.
With the win today, NJIT improves to 9-7 on the season, extending its winning streak to six, topping Coppin State in three straights frames – 25-10, 25-17, 26-16.
Senior Agnieszka Pregowska led the Highlander offense with a team-high 11 kills on 16 attempts with two errors for a .562 hitting percentage. She also added two block assists and one service ace.
Sophomore Baaba Hughes produced nine kills while teammates Renata Pandolfo and Kristy Haeckel notched seven kills apiece. Haeckel hit .500 for the match (7 kills, 2 errors, 10 attempts).
On the defensive end, Pandolfo posted a match-high nine digs. Junior Erica Schultz added five while freshman Audrey Snell and libero Sabrina Baby posted four.
NJIT setter Schultz, piled up a match-high 23 assists. Senior Danielle Thompson posted 11 assists.
The Highlanders combined for four service aces, led by Baby with three.
For Coppin State, which falls to 0-13 on the year, Kanishia Sheppard notched a match-high 12 kills. Jade Dudley led the defensive end recording a team-high eight digs. Setter Lauren Lacey combined for 16 assists.
NJIT will return to action when it travels to La Salle on Tuesday for a 7 pm start.
