Tenafly, NJ - The NJIT men's tennis team was dominant in its 6-1 victory over visiting Sacred Heart Saturday afternoon at Tenafly Racquet Club.

The Highlanders won five out of six singles matches and also swept the three doubles matches, including second doubles and third doubles with identical scores, 8-0.

NJIT's Steve Erickson had a big day, teaming up with Jonathan Lang to win, 8-0, at second doubles and notching a 6-2, 6-0, win in first singles over Sacred Heart's Jinah Shah.

Sophomore Cosmin Chiujdea, who teamed with Anthony Tunnero to win the first doubles match went on and won at third singles, defeating Pioneer Bryan Rodgers, 6-1, 6-1.

The Highlanders Siddharth Verma combined with senior Ramy Lawandy to take third doubles, 8-0.

Transfer Tunnero picked up a 6-0, 6-1 victory at fourth singles while freshman Doug Zytko closed out the match with a 3-6, 6-3, (10-4) victory over Sacred Heart's Joe Lanciotti at the sixth spot.

NJIT, 4-1 on the season host Hofstra on Saturday, February 9 at Tenafly Racquet Club at 7pm.
