LEXINGTON, VA -- The NJIT men's swimming team dropped a 162-72 decision to the Keydets of VMI in Lexington.
Although the Highlanders were able to record a number of good swims throughout the meet, the Keydets managed to win every event thereby assuring the victory.
Highlanders who performed well included Steve Schreyer (50 yard freestyle), Richard Montesano (200 yard freestyle, 50 yard butterfly, 200 yard individual medley), James Paccioretti (200 yard freestyle, 200 freestyle relay) and Andrew Helber (lifetime best, 1000 yard freestyle).
Head Coach Eric Rasmussen stated, “VMI had a great meet, with their guys setting a number of school records. It's difficult to win a meet when the opponents are swimming that fast.”
The Highlanders return to action on December 2nd when they travel to William Patterson University.
