The New Jersey Institute of Technology women's tennis team nipped Fairleigh Dickinson, 4-3 Saturday night at the Tenafly Racquet Club improving their record to 7-3.
The Highlanders split even with the Knights in the singles contests and then swept the doubles competition.
Transfer Marine Henry got the Highlanders started at No. 4 singles defeating Ksenia Cheryvyshova 6-3, 6-3. Teammate Fanny Aizier followed behind topping Tricia Small 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. Chiori Koike earned a point for NJIT defeating Neetu Singh 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
The Highlanders swept the doubles contest. Iulia Doci and Fatima Kasem took No. 1 singles 8-1 while Isha Toor and Aizer edged Chernyshova and Clara Smith 8-6. The Highlanders swept 8-0 at the No. 3 spot.
The Highlanders return to action when they travel to Boca Raton, Florida for Spring Break to take on Florida Atlantic. The match is scheduled for Monday, March 12 at 1pm.
