New Jersey Institute of Technology took four of the six singles matches and swept the doubles for a 5-2 women's tennis win over visiting Fairfield Saturday night at the Tenafly Racquet Club.
Sophomore Iulia Doci led the Highlanders, scoring a 6-1, 6-2 win in first singles and then combining with Fatima Kasem for an 8-1 win at first doubles.
Also capturing wins in both singles and doubles for NJIT were: Isha Toor (6-3, 6-2 in fourth singles and 8-4 with Fanny Aizier in second doubles); Aizier was a 7-5, 6-4 winner at fifth singles and Chiori Koike won the sixth singles (6-1, 6-1) and joined Grace Bogdan for an 8-4 win in third doubles.
The 6-3 Highlanders handed Fairfield (2-1) its first loss.
NJIT is slated to host Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday, March 3, at 7 pm in the Tenafly Racquet Club.
