The New Jersey Institute of Technology men's tennis team fell to Monmouth, 6-1 Saturday night in Tenafly, NJ. The Highlanders are now 6-3 on the season.
The Hawks improve to 5-6 on the season, winning five out of six single matches and sweeping in doubles.
The only win for the Highlanders was at second singles in a three-set tilt, won by freshman Jonathan Lang, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2. Lang improves his record to 4-0 on the season.
The closest match of the day came at number three singles between NJIT's Cosmin Chiujdea and Monmouth's Pedro Bueno, where Bueno overcame a 7-5(4), 7-6(2), (10-8) victory.
The Highlanders return to action on Saturday, February 24, when they travel to Philadelphia to take on Temple at 4pm.
