The NJIT men's swimming team picked up four first place finishes against Howard Saturday afternoon on the campus of Mount Saint Mary's as Howard came out on top 95-73.
Senior Hayk Ekshian picked up a first place individual win in the 100 meter fly finishing with a time of 1:02.40. Daniel Schittone, set a personal-best 11:23.45 in the 800 meter free coming in first.
The Highlanders 400 free medley team which consisted of Eskishan, James Paccioretti, Steve Schreyer and Dmitry Bohdan finished 28 seconds faster then Howard with a time of 4:02.87.
Also picking up a win for NJIT was freshman Brian Amaro who made his Highlander debut in the water in the 400 meter free. Teammate Schittone followed closely behind as Amaro finished one second ahead.
Sophomore Dan Carrera recorded a fourth place finish in the 50 meter free (29.80). Junior captain Mike Lawson came in second in the 200 meter IM.
The Highlanders return to action on Saturday, November 10 at 1pm when they face Saint Peter's and Canisius in a tri-meet in Riverdale, NY.
