The New Jersey Institute of Technology's men's volleyball teams winning streak came to an end Saturday night when they faced the NAIA's No. 2 ranked California Baptist.
California Baptist took the Highlanders in three games, 30-14, 30-24, 30-27.
The win for the Lancers is the fourth straight victory in the past five days. The 2-time defending NAIA champs improve their record to 11-7, while the Highlanders fall to 10-6.
Brazilian natives Eduardo Welter and Leonardo Paludo led the Highlander attack Saturday night. Eduardo posted a game-high 15 kills and three digs, while Paludo notched 10 kills. Rodrigo Correa finished with 27 assists, while Christenssen Siddayo had a team-high 6 digs.
For the Lancers, Shamsu Awudu posted 14 kills on 22 attempts with three errors on the night while teammate Seidu Ajanako recorded 11 kills, 8 digs and two service aces. Dan Buehring posted a career-high 39 assists against the Highlanders. Romain Vetter and Shamsu Awudu both recorded a game-high five blocks.
The Highlanders will face Newman on March 13th at 7pm.
