Johanne Walleck scored twice in the first half, leading Quinnipiac past New Jersey Institute of Technology, 4-0, in a women's college soccer match Wednesday afternoon at Quinnipiac's Bobcat Field.
The Bobcats scored three times in the first 30 minutes and added a second-half goal to raise their season record to 7-2-1.
Jen Hirsch opened the scoring at 3:33 and Walleck struck twice in less than six minutes, tallying goals in the 24th minute and again in the 30th minute. Amber Sidoti notched a second-half goal for the Bobcats.
Each team changed goalkeepers after a half. Bruna Lotufo played the first half for NJIT and then was relieved by Angelica Sepulveda in the second half. Lotufo recorded two saves while Sepulveda collected five. Sarah Lusto and Heather Zaccone split the shutout for the home team.
The Highlanders will host New York Institute of Technology on Saturday, October 14 on Lubetkin Field at 3:00pm.
