Jessica Gerald earned Great West Conference Player of the Week honors helping the Highlanders to a pair of conference victories, last week averaged 28.0 point per game while shooting (15-21; 71 percent) from the free throw line.

The 5-foot-10 guard scored 22 points leading NJIT to a 72-46 win over Houston Baptist Thursday night.  Gerald also passed a career milestone, reaching 1,000 points with her eighth point against Houston Baptist.   She is the first Highlander to reach 1,000 points playing her entire career at the Division I level.

Gerald posted a season-high 34 points as NJIT held off Texas-Pan American 70-66, Saturday afternoon. Gerald, who shot 2-for-20 in the first meeting between the teams on January 14, bounced back Saturday shooting 10-for-20 from the field and 10-for-13 from the charity strip.
