Women’s tennis Joleta Budiman receives NJIT Female Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Navy Invitational.
In the three-day invite, Budiman posted a win against Casey Zhangh of Lehigh 6-4, 6-1, and her only loss of the weekend in doubles play.
On Saturday the freshman was the only Highlander to win with two victories over Emma Diemling of Binghamton 6-0, 6-2 and Regina Pitts of Sacred Heart 4-6. 6-4, 13-11, making it to the Flight B finals.
Budiman defeated Seton Hall’s Michael Matson 6-1, 4-6, 10-3 in the Flight B finals winning in her first collegiate invitational.
