Shannon Turner receives Female Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Ninth Annual Ramapo Invitational the Highlanders participated in over the weekend.
 
The junior posted two second place wins on the day, coming in second throwing a 38.61m in the hammer throw and second in the shot put with a 10.62m.
 
Turner’s throw in the women’s hammer is a new NJIT record, and both of her throws were personal-best marks.
 
Turner now holds the first, third and fourth best throws in school history in the hammer throw.
