NEWARK, NJ -NJIT women’s soccer athlete Samantha Bersett from Wildwood, MO has been selected as Female Athlete of the Week.
 
Bersett was named College Sports Madness Division I Independent Player of the Week for her performance through August 26.
 
The goalkeeper had a flawless night in the Highlander 1-0 win over Canisius. Bersett who set a program record with six shutouts last year, began her junior season with an eight-save shutout, bringing her career total to 11.
