NJIT men's track and field athlete John Porteous, from Wood-Ridge, NJ has been selected as NJIT Male Athlete of the Week as he guided his team to capture the 2014 Collegiate Track Conference Outdoor Championships for the second straight year.
The junior picked up four first-place finishes at the CTC's – men's 400 meter dash (47.59), 110 meter hurdles (14.96), 400 meter hurdles(53.92) and the men's 4x100 relay team with teammates, Emmanuel Agyen, Jason Chippy, and Adam Morgan (41.78).
Porteous also took second in the men's long jump with a distance of 6.64m.
