NJIT women's tennis athlete Martina Tripcovici from Montreal, Canada has been selected as NJIT Female Athlete of the Week for her performance in two matches last week for the Highlanders.
Tripcovici started off the weekend defeating Villanova's Connor Brewer at fourth singles in straight sets on Saturday, 6-1, 6-0 in NJIT’s 6-1 win.
The senior was the lone winner in singles competition in the teams' 6-1 loss at Stony Brook on Sunday afternoon. She defeated Seawolves Adey Osabuohien at third singles, 6-2, 6-4.
Since returning back to the court after having shoulder surgery in the Fall, Tripcovici is 4-0.
