NEWARK, NJ - NJIT baseball player Teddy Bickert, from Ulster Park, NY has been selected as NJIT Male Athlete of the Week for his performance during the Highlanders games this past weekend against FDU and Lehigh.
In the Highlanders 11-8 loss Friday to FDU Bickert had a game-best 3 hits and scored twice.
On Saturday, the left fielder singled with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning, lifting NJIT to a thrilling come-from-behind 4-3 walk-off win against Lehigh. On Sunday the Highlanders dropped the final game to Lehigh 7-5.
The senior, who started in all 3 games, finished the weekend hitting .417, adding 5 runs and 2 RBIs.
