NJIT baseball player Alex Daniele, from Scotch Plains, NJ has been selected as NJIT Male Athlete of the Week for his performance during the Highlanders 13-3 win at Coppin State. 
 
The freshman pitcher, in his second start of the season, worked the first seven innings yielding one hit and no runs with 10 strikeouts earning his first collegiate win.
 
The Highlanders head to Maryland this weekend to play two doubleheaders, one on Saturday and one on Sunday, against Maryland Eastern Shore.
